Pippa Access Fund

Recovery support shouldn't depend on what you can pay

Sponsor Pippa access for someone going through a hard stretch financially, or ask for a free subscription yourself. Same app, same features, nothing marked on your account.

How it works

Someone contributes

Sponsors fund whole months of access. Clinics and community partners can fund a batch for the people they work with.

We allocate it

We review requests in order and award three, six or twelve months based on what is asked for and what the fund can cover.

Someone gets Pippa

The recipient signs in and everything is unlocked. Their account is indistinguishable from a paid one.

How we allocate, and what we keep

  • Requests are reviewed in the order they arrive, with priority for clinician and nonprofit referrals, people who are uninsured or underinsured, students without their own income, and people facing housing or food insecurity.
  • We never ask for tax returns, pay stubs, diagnoses, treatment records, or an explanation of your situation.
  • We store only what we need to allocate access and email you a decision: your email, your country, the length you asked for, and an optional referral code.
  • Financial hardship status is never shown to clinicians, family supporters, or other users, and it never appears in the app.
  • When the fund is fully allocated, new requests go on a waitlist that we work through in order.

Questions

Who can ask for this?

Anyone for whom paying for Pippa would be a real strain right now. We prioritize people referred by a clinician or nonprofit, people who are uninsured or underinsured, students without their own income, and people dealing with housing or food insecurity.

What do I have to send you?

Your email, your country, how long you would like support for, and a checkbox saying paying would be a hardship. No pay stubs, no tax returns, no diagnosis, no story about your situation. We do not ask and we do not want it.

Will anyone know?

No. Your account looks like every other Pippa account. Your clinician, your family members on the dashboard, and other users see nothing about how your subscription is paid for.

How long does access last?

Three, six or twelve months depending on what you ask for and what the fund can cover. We will tell you the length in the approval email, and you are welcome to ask again when it runs out.

What if the fund is empty?

You go on the waitlist and we work through it in order as more access gets funded. Pippa still works without a subscription, so nothing you have logged goes away while you wait.

Where does the money go?

Contributions fund subscriptions for recipients. The funding unit is what a Pippa subscription sells for, not what it costs us to run, because what a sponsor is buying is somebody a subscription. Payment processing fees come out of the contribution before it is allocated.

Pippa is not currently a nonprofit organization. Contributions are not tax-deductible. Funds received through this program are used to provide free or subsidized Pippa access.

Pippa is a support tool. It is not medical treatment, not a diagnosis, and not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US.
